At the turn of the 19th century, opera and its stars and heroes dominated conversation among society’s elite. One of the greatest English architects, Sir John Soane, developed a close friendship with star soprano Nancy Storace, the English prodigy who inspired one of Mozart’s greatest operatic characters. How did this chance meeting turn into a lifelong family connection?
